Traditional (paper-based) Registration is being phrased out and will not be available beginning 1 September 2017. Groups which have received paper registrations and payments must complete input before 10 pm on 31 August 2017.
+ Registration 2016-17: traditional (paper-based) method
New volunteers will be prompted to read and accept the Code of Conduct when they first log into myscouts (or until they accept).
Continuing volunteers will be asked in myscouts to recommit to the Code of Conduct once per calendar (or until they accept).
Parents/guardians and other non-members will not receive this prompt and should sign a paper Code of Conduct. CoCs for these people do not have to come to the Service Centre; instead they should be kept with Group records.
Registered volunteers and Rover Scouts should log into myscouts to accept the Code of Conduct.
Registration Package Coversheets
Coversheets help identify what paperwork a Group intended to submit and to verify what was received.
The Volunteer Screening Checklist is a summary/snapshot of the interview and includes space for the appointing Commissioner's approval of the applicant.
Required information: Each interview must be conducted by two fully screened/trained registered members of Scouts Canada, both of whom have completed "Volunteer Screening" training.
To successfully enter an interview in myscouts, you need to be able to locate the interviewers - so it's helpful for the interviewers to provide their (first and last) names as they appear in their myscouts profiles. Only eligible interviewers will appear in the search.
References are now checked by contractor, Backcheck so please skip that Section.
Interviews must be completed by two duly active Scouts Canada members, both of whom have completed “Volunteer Screening” training.
